Had an enjoyable 2 night stay. Our room was comfy and clean. Breakfast excellent, and included if booked on hotel website
An old jacobean mansion built in 1603 ,lovely friendly staff with a good breakfast, eggs were cooked perfectly.there is an honesty bar with a room where you can sit and relax with an assortment of games to play.if you have a front room it is quite noisy with traffic but because it is a listed building they can't put double glazing in. Room was clean and spacious . The hotel is about a mile from the centre of Whitby. Overall a good stay
A lovely historical hall. Rooms were spacious and very clean. The garden was delightful and the breakfast very good. Staff were more than helpful and welcoming. Just 1-2 miles to Whitby, depending upon which walking trail you take. Plenty to do in nearby Whitby. We did not tour around Ruswarp village. It was a Sunday so therefore most shops and the bakery were shut and we only there for one night. The Coastliner bus service runs through the village. We did eat breakfast on the river cafe in the village, which was very good also
What a lovely hidden gem! If you love character and charm, this is the place for you. Ideally placed just outside the hustle and bustle of Whitby. We stayed in "the snug" room and had everything we needed. If I was being picky, there are a few signs of wear and tear but I think it adds to the charm. Owners are very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast available for a very reasonable price but we didn't take advantage of this on this occasion. Lovely walk to Whitby by the side of the railway/ river which takes about 30 mins. Would highly recommend.
Stayed for may bank holiday. Fabulous hotel and location. Walked over fields into Whitby. The breakfast was absolutely amazing.. room was perfect, clean and spacious. What a treat and a find. You will love it.
