Great stay, situated very close to whitby. Pods themselves are nice. Obviously I understood there are communal toilets and showers which in hindsight really aren't my thing. I have serious issues using anyone's toilets but my own. I feel very bad writing something negative because they rescue animals who would probably otherwise be dead, but the rats that are attracted By the food is not good. There where a lots of rats roaming around where the birds are kept and I really really hate rats! They really need to sort the vermin problem. We had just ordered some food from local takeaway only to see a rat strolling past our front door which really put me off my food. If the toilets weren't an issue and I hadn't seen so many rats I would stay again otherwise unfortunately I will not stay again.

We stayed in Horseshoe Cottage and found it sadly lacking. Unfinished paintwork, cobwebs, fixtures coming away from the walls and not dusted well. The toilet is in such a tight space that you need to be no more than the width of a toilet to use it comfortably, exceptionally rusty shower rail and the floorboards upstairs .... oh dear lord ... every step, and I mean EVERY step makes the boards not just creak, but groan and scream. Not great in the small hours of the morning when you need to pay a visit to the bathroom, or go and see to one of the kids. You end up waking everyone. It is such a shame really, it has so much potential! Personally I would lose the room with the bunk beds and knock through to make the bathroom a normal size. Put two lots of bunks in the double bedroom and make the room with two single beds in it in to the master double. Perhaps smaller wardrobes too.
