Nice flat fields. Bit of a walk to the shower block but OK if you've taken a torch. Nice walk into the village and can see steam trains from the site. Clean and tidy
It's a cheap farm campsite. Basic but clean and functional. We love it but if you want posh and plush or top notch failities you'll have to pay double (and more) for them elsewhere. Excellent value and a beautiful setting. The negative reviews seem to be based on people's expectations not being met. Its 9 a night for god's sake. You get what you pay for so if you want luxury then pay for it rather than being a cheapskate and leaving a bad review. It's your own fault. Unless you have learning difficulties and can't read you really can't complain. And no, I'm not related or connected to the site owners in any way. Just an honest camper with realistic expectations who gets sick of internet keyboard warriors desperate to destroy a business they don't like because they have unrealistic expectations and feel entitled to slate it mercilessly.
Nice spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Stayed twice, it's a very picturesque campsite on the Yorkshire Moors. However I've given it 3 stars because I feel the amenities could do with a general revamp and better locationing.
Love this campsite and especially the fact there is no wifi or mobile phone signal. Lets all learn to speak to the people we want to spend time with.
The main feature of this campsite is that it is within view of the steam railway, if you pick the right pitch. When we visited there were a rowdy family there with a loud radio on their car roof until quite late at night who also resorted, after theyd had enough to drink, to burning plastic on their camp fire creating clouds of smoke. Of course we may just have caught them on a bad weekend.
