Terrific views from the top of the steps... We quite often park up here as it can be a lot easier than trying to park in Whitby centre, but bear in mind that you have the 199 steps to walk down & back up again. Great views across Whitby & the harbour... :-)
Bearing in mind it will take you 20 minutes to get from this car park down hill into town and probably 30 minutes back up the steps to you car 1 hour is not going to give you any time at all in the town. Prices aligned across all car parks from what I could see, irrespective of location. 7 for 6hrs is high but at 40p if you want to use the loos adjacent to the car park its extortionate.
Fantastic day out. The Abbey ruins are remarkable. Fun activities for the children.
Rip off. Local authority tax on tourists.
