Delicious, hot fish pie on a cold RAINY day in Whitby! Great caf with lovely friendly staff and a little free range canine fluffball who goes from table to table introducing herself! And the place is friendly for visiting dogs too - perfect!
Went there the other evening with my partner and our dog. Lovely staff. Great food at a good price. They even asked if our dog would like a sausage... Would recommend!
You just have to try the smoked bacon ! Smoked just up the road at fortunes kipper house, the bacon sandwich is a real treat. Plenty of staff to make you feel welcome

Our first visit to Monks Haven Cafe was very good. Great food, friendly waitress, no complaints. On our second visit, a few weeks later, we sat down at a window table, only to be told that we could not sit there, we had to sit at a small table in the middle of the room, because there was only two of us, even though the place was not full. We got up and promptly left, going to a bistro nearby called The Edge. Here we were met by very friendly staff who said we could sit at which ever table we chose & we were served with the best ever beer batter fish & chips... Sorry Monks Haven, but we will not be entering your cafe again...
