After a 12mile hike to robin hoods bay it was time for our treat. We found the first open fish and chip shop and waited 5-10minutes which was fine as we had ordered fish and scampi. 2 pop, 1 fish, 1 portion of scampi, 1 chips, curry and mushy peas split between me and my partner came to 18. The shop are happy to split the portions for you..Portions were huge, absolutely lovely too. Well recommended.
We happen to be blessed with coming here in the off season so it's a little quieter.. which is nice.. The food was delicious crispy batter on fresh flaky cod, the chips are also crispy served with mushy peas and tartar sauce.. the serving was quite large but you would never complain about that!!! Also a great selection of gluten free items which made it the perfect choice.. Lovely smiling service topped off a great lunch

Brilliant food with prompt service. Drinks came after starter. It would have been nice to have at least water before. Cod and chips and fish pie fantastic. Wanted Whitby crab pate but none available so smoked salmon, which was good. We were able to share it - lucky for us because portions are generous.
Fantastic fish and chips. Great fish menu all round if you don't want the traditional option. Delicious vegetarian dishes, you will have to avoid the chips (cooked in beef dripping!).Lovely building and authentic atmosphere. Great friendly staff and service. We can't wait to go back.
