Lovely walk out of town over to Robin Hoods Bay. Nice and quiet when the town is busy
The track is commonly known as the " line" it is often narrow in places. The track is made of crushed cinders, it can get muddy in places and has potholes, the track is relatively flat from Whitby to hawsker from that point on to robin hood's bay it's down hill all the way. The views are great out to sea, you will often meet dog walkers, walkers and horse riders, so if cycling just keep an eye out and we can all get along. The track from robin hood's bay to ravenscar is unfortunately up hill most of the way! This is I think the best bit for the views, the good news is that from ravenscar onwards it's either flat or down hill, yippee! Lol There are lots of cafes and pubs on the way at robin hood's bay and further towards Scarborough. There is often a few deer and rabbits about, if you stop off in ravenscar then you might be lucky to see the seal colony. The track is due to be improved in the near future to guarantee its use for future generations and to attract even more people to the area.
Great ride from Scarborough to Whitby. Rained all the way, but well worth it.
Excellent, Really enjoyed cycling this quite flat gies for miles, suitable for all, it does cross over roads so just be careful if the kids are ahead of you.
This is a great walking track from Whitby to Scarborough. We walked the 10.5 k to Robin Hoods Bay which took 1 hour 40 minutes. It was quite sheltered by bushes on either side and nice and solid underfoot.
